Original Records From The Beatles Covered Songs
Our collections already completed Beatles Rarities of each countries
and All Japanese original pressing with Obi, Singles, EP's
and other rarities Promo only, Error pressing etc etc.
However, We do not exhibit those pictures.
In order that it may avoid a maniac collector's mischief and Bootleger.
Then, we collected the original records of the songs which Beatles covered.
It was also fairly serious work.
We got to know the wonderfulness of the rock n roll
which Beatles loved from these original records.
So This is another side of The Beatles collection.

レア盤を集め終わったトップコレクターに捧げる究極の Beatles コレクション。
Beatles がカヴァーしたミュージシャンのオリジナルレコードを
一挙に公開する。オールディーズ＆ロックンロールファンをもうならせる
オリジナルソング名曲の数々。いかに Beatles のカヴァーが優れていようが
オリジナル在りきのカヴァーである事を念頭にご覧ください。
またビートルズメンバーがこれら良質なロックンロールのファンであったように
これらオリジナルソングからビートルズを再考察して頂ければ幸いです。
選考基準
基本は正規盤アルバムでリリースされたものから選考。
但し、BBC や Star-Club 等で正規盤に収録されなかった曲でも掲載すべきと
思われる曲を一部掲載。（この選考基準は人により様々なので一部未練を
残す曲も在るが独断的に決定！。チンポン！)
アーティストの選考について。

出来るだけオリジナルアーティストとカヴァーモデルを共に掲載。

プレ ビートルズでなるべく近いヴァージョン／ビートルズが聴いていただろうと
思われるアーティストを選考 (結果、変更も有るかも？)

当時の Liverpool |
イギリス北部の港町として
繁栄していた Liverpool
ここに集う若者達はどこよりも
流行に敏感であっただろう。
船員達によって買い上げられて
きた当事のアメリカンヒットソング
のレコードは Liverpool の
若者達に流布されていく。
肉体労働者である船員が
好んで聴いていたのは激しい
ロックンロールとエモーショナルな
R & B ソングだった。
蒸気船の煙むせぶ同地において |
彼らは海の向こうのアメリカをどう見ていたのか。Beatles のメンバー各自に
音楽的なバックボーンの違いあり、その為に彼らのアイドルも多岐にわたる。
とりわけムードポピュラーミュージックのファンだった父を持つ Paul McCartney
は
その音楽的な趣向も他のメンバーとは異なるように伺え、古くから歌われてきた
スタンダード曲の選択の多くは Paul 主導である事に気づく。
また彼らのカヴァー曲は Billboard にチャートインしたヒット曲が多い。
総括して彼らのカヴァーの中心は南部産のロックンロールや R & B が多い。
それはイギリス人ならではの着眼点であり無い物ねだり的な憧憬を見せる
カヴァーであった事が解る。結果彼らがヒット曲やスタンダード曲をカヴァーした
事によってそれらの曲は世界的に伝承されていった。 |
日本同様に第二次世界大戦敗戦後、連合国の進駐軍がドイツに持ち込む
アメリカのロックンロールは瞬く間にドイツに普及していき大きな需要となる。 |
ハンブルグ時代 |
ハンブルグでの下積み時代、
ここで彼らはカヴァー曲の
センスとともに演奏能力を高めた。
気の荒いハンブルグの客の前で
「知ってる曲をやれ」と野次られる
毎日を過ごす彼ら。
ここで取り上げた彼らのカヴァー
マテリアルも興味深い。
本国では Elvis Presley の徴兵に
伴いロックンロールムーヴメント
のピークを過ぎつつあったが
彼らのハンブルグ時代に
ドイツの熱狂はまさにピークを
迎えようとしていた。
その意味においても耳の肥えた
ハンブルグの客人相手に演じた
攻撃的で強かなカヴァー曲群には |
目を見張るものがある。これこそが Beatles の血となり骨となった
ロックンロールのスピリットである。ここには彼らのアイドルであった
オリジナルミュージシャンを伝承していこうとする尊い瞬間がある。 |

彼らのアイドル Little Richard と |
アメリカから押し寄せてきた
ロックンロールムーヴメントの
波はその後もイギリス他
世界中に波及していった。
今では当たり前と思われる
ギター片手にスタンドマイク、
激しく鍵盤を叩くスタイル等
パフォーマンススタイルや
マナーの多くは１９５０年代の
ロックンローラーが築き上げて
きたものだ。
Beatles がロックンロールコンボ
として踏襲したのは、その在り方
全てであり、スピリット無しでは
ロックンロールを語れない核心的
なものだった。それはヴォーカル
グループとしてのスタイル、演奏も
出来るコンボスタイル。 |
それを一般的なスタイルとして完成させたのが彼らのオリジナルスタイルである。
Beatles の解散間近、不穏な状況から脱するために Paul が「初心に帰ろう」
と持ちかけた提案もカヴァー曲であった。
ここにロックンロール本来の意味を知る事が出来る。 |
